Banning Unified School District Changes School Calendar
As a result of the California budget crisis, the school year has been shortened by 5 days.
There will be NO SCHOOL on the following 5 days.
Monday February 27th
Friday May 4th
Thursday May 24th
Friday May 25th and
Tuesday May 29th
Please do not send your child to school on these days. Additionally, transportation will not be available on these days. If your child participates in extra-curricular activities please contact your child’s coach/advisor or the school regarding changes to practice schedules.

DRESS CODE
The purpose of a dress code is to provide for student safety, and to allow the educational process to continue uninterrupted. Therefore:
1. Bare feet, flip-flops, and sandals without heel straps are not permitted.
2. Clothing that advertises drugs; alcohol, tobacco or sex is not allowed.
3. Clothing with vulgar or offensive words or pictures is not permitted.
4. Excessively baggy clothing is not permitted (two fingers in a pants waist)
5. Undergarments must not be visible.
6. Midriff or tube tops are not allowed.
7. Shorts: When a student puts their arms at their side, their thumbs should not touch any skin.
8. Hats or headgear may not be worn in classrooms. Caps must be worn with the bill facing forward. No headbands or doo rags.
